Our Facility in Coxsackie, NY manufactures large, complex contoured structural components and assemblies for aerospace and other applications. Our integrated processes include stretch-forming, thermal-forming, chemical processing, precision fabrication, machining, finishing processes, and integration of components into subassemblies.
JOB SUMMARY
Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
SALARY
$20.65-$30.00/hr – commensurate with experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Studies and interprets blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Operates drill press.
- Operates HAAS CNC VMC.
- Operates horizontal band saw.
- Demonstrates intermediate turning, drilling, reaming, and tapping skills.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools including but not limited to the following: 6″ scale, vernier, outside micrometer, height gage, pin gage, telescope gages, dial test indicator, inside micrometers, surface finish comparator, protractor, and Pi tape.
- Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems.
- Is able to read and edit NC code to address programming issues. Basic edits are required.
- Understand Principles of Lean Manufacturing.
- Understands, practices and advocates the 6S workplace culture and initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of CNC machining and set up experience with 3-axis machines a must; experience with 5-axis machines a plus
- Must have NC code editing experience
- Experience using precision measuring tools
- Experience reading blueprints
- Experience with HAAS equipment a plus
- Highschool or GED required
